Technical Operations Engineer, Quality & Test (AI Hardware): Own the transition of Karman hardware from engineering validation to field-ready units at pilot scale with an accent on building repeatable build processes, quality systems, production test infrastructure, and supply chain foundations. Location: Based onsite at company headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with flexibility for occasional remote work

Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 base compensation depending on experience

What you will do

• Own product quality process from engineering validation through design verification, production validation, and pilot-scale build readiness
• Develop build travelers, work instructions, assembly procedures, in-process quality checkpoints, and inspection standards
• Lead first article inspections, non-conformance reporting, CAPA processes, and root cause analysis
• Develop and execute production test protocols including functional and environmental testing
• Coordinate supplier quality, component qualification, and supply chain readiness
• Support ECO/ECN approvals, BOM verification, field deployments, and transition to scaled production

Requirements

• 3–5 years in manufacturing quality, production test engineering, or hardware operations
• Experience owning quality processes across EVT, DVT, PVT through pilot production
• Hands-on with build travelers, work instructions for complex electronic hardware
• Experience with NCR, CAPA, FAI, inspections, supplier quality management
• Knowledge of circuit boards, electronic assemblies, hardware test instrumentation
• Bachelor’s in electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience managing ECO/ECN and BOM revision control
