TL;DR
Technical Support Engineer (Insurtech): Owning the operational health of embedded integrations and acting as the first technical responder for partners with an accent on triage, root cause analysis, and API debugging. What you will do
- Own customer and partner issues end-to-end from first contact through to resolution adhering to SLA targets.
- Investigate data mismatches and integration failures by analyzing logs, writing SQL queries, and reproducing issues.
- Implement safe, well-scoped fixes such as configuration updates or small code changes and escalate larger engineering tasks via Linear.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for embedded partners, communicating with urgency and clarity.
- Maintain a voice-of-customer tracker to surface recurring patterns and advocate for systemic product improvements.
- Contribute to internal documentation and runbooks and participate in post-incident reviews.
Requirements
- 3β4 years of experience in technical or application support at B2B SaaS or API-first companies.
- Ability to read and debug code primarily in TypeScript, Node.js, .NET, and Postgres.
- Strong working knowledge of REST APIs, including OAuth, webhooks, pagination, and rate limits.
- Proficiency in production debugging using observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Sentry.
- Advanced SQL skills for investigating data issues and validating records independently.
- Must be based in Ireland
Nice to have
- Experience supporting payroll, HR, or benefits integrations (e.g., Workday, Personio, Rippling).
- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure or cloud-native environments.
- Previous experience in a startup environment wearing multiple hats.
- Exposure to regulated industries such as fintech, insurtech, or healthtech.
- Experience with embedded or white-label API products.
