What you will do

• Lead the development of application software requirements for safety-critical, real-time operating systems in coordination with systems engineering.
• Define and implement platform software architectures and fault management for autonomous space vehicles.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers in software development practices and conduct code reviews.
• Collaborate with Autonomy Leads to establish integrated vehicle autonomous behaviors, modes, and states.
• Validate flight software components using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) and simulation environments.
• Partner with product managers to identify technical risks, maintain schedules, and manage resource allocation.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, CS, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, or related field.
• Proven experience in real-time embedded systems using C/C++.
• Advanced understanding of low-level software structure, inter-process communication, and scheduling.
• Knowledge of safety-critical software standards such as NPR 7150.2 or DO-178.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise with Embedded Linux or equivalent real-time operating systems.
• Experience with avionics, satellite, or space flight systems.
• Track record of managing integrated hardware-in-the-loop lab environments.
