Staff Tech Lead Manager (AV Core Services): Develop embedded applications and frameworks that provision, execute, instrument, and monitor self-driving software stacks with an accent on on-vehicle services, simulation environments, hardware platforms, and production workflows. Focus on building systems for vehicle status monitoring, data exfiltration, and engineering onboard workflows across distributed computers.

Location: Hybrid - based remotely but expected to report to Milford, Michigan or Mountain View, California at least 3 times a week if living within 50-mile radius. U.S. Person required (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee). Subject to export control restrictions.

Salary: $189,000 - $290,700

• Build on-vehicle services to provision, execute, and monitor autonomous vehicle software in development and production workflows
• Develop frameworks to configure self-driving software for simulations, hardware platforms, and diverse use cases
• Create systems to monitor vehicle status and exfiltrate data
• Collaborate with multiple teams and mentor developers
• Deliver complex projects through incremental development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or relevant experience
• 8+ years building and shipping production software in Linux environments
• Strong modern C++ and Python development
• Experience with tooling for large systems
• High standards for quality and testability
• U.S. Person status

Nice to have

• Track record from design to customer release
• Robotics middleware, IPC, logging
• Software for constrained CPU/memory or hardware interfacing
• Strong communication for stakeholders and documentation
