AI Engineer (LLM)

TL;DR

What you will do

• Design and deliver production AI systems for commercial platforms and federal modernization programs.
• Own the full development lifecycle, including data, model integration, services, UI, infrastructure, security, and deployment.
• Implement LLM-based solutions using streaming, tool/function calling, token accounting, and failure handling.
• Build agentic systems featuring multi-step workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and human-in-the-loop guardrails.
• Develop secure, multi-tenant architectures following least-privilege design and federal compliance.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance.
• 1-3 years of professional experience shipping ML or NLP systems, specifically Generative AI/LLM solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with modern web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, React).
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs via OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Vertex, or Azure OpenAI.
• Strong skills in relational data modeling with PostgreSQL and AWS infrastructure (ideally Terraform).
• Practical understanding of OAuth/OIDC, JWT, RBAC, and multi-tenant isolation.

Nice to have

• Exposure to federal programs such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, or the ATO process.
• Experience with Keycloak, zero-trust application design, or RLS-based multi-tenancy.
• Knowledge of data lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) and advanced SQL.
• Experience with Document AI, OCR pipelines, and production observability (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Grafana).
• Skills in supply-chain hardening, including SBOMs and threat modeling.
