What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of ML scientists to deliver production-grade ranking and recommendation solutions for travel products.
• Define and drive the end-to-end ML roadmap, from problem formulation and data strategy to productionization.
• Set and enforce best practices for experimental design, A/B testing, and causal inference.
• Partner with data and software engineering teams to ensure models are scalable, resilient, and well-integrated into APIs.
• Mentor and coach scientists through technical guidance, peer reviews, and career development.
• Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions and GenAI tools into real-world products to improve business outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent level.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience and 3+ years of people management experience.
• Strong expertise in modern machine learning methods for ranking and recommendation.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end ML initiatives and integrating them into production systems.
• Experience managing or technically leading ML scientists or applied researchers across multiple services or products.

Nice to have

• Experience with natural language search and refining recommendations using natural language.
• Experience with multi-modal recommendations (images, metadata, unstructured text).
• Track record of delivering large-scale ML solutions in high-traffic environments.
• Ability to advance team capabilities using GenAI and agentic techniques.
