Supervisor Clinical Lab

TL;DR

Supervisor Clinical Lab (cfDNA testing): Oversee clinical laboratory staff performance and daily operations with an accent on ensuring adherence to SOPs, CLIA/CAP guidelines, and production goals. Focus on coaching, training, motivating team members, handling issues, and collaborating with interdepartmental teams like OPS, R&D, and Engineering.

Location: San Carlos, CA (onsite, shift 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM). Current CA State CGMBS or CLS license required.

Salary: $107,400 - $161,200 USD

What you will do

• Provide direct supervision to lab staff performing testing and data review.
• Ensure production goals are met, adherence to SOPs, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Oversee training, development, coaching, and evaluation of team members.
• Handle employee issues with HR and manager, lead shift meetings, and maintain team morale.
• Document nonconformances, escalate deviations, and identify trends for solutions.
• Interact with interdepartmental teams and assist in day-to-day lab tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in medical technology, laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological sciences + 4.5+ years industry experience (2+ in clinical lab) or Master's + 2+ years (2+ in clinical lab).
• Current ASCP certification (CLS, MLS, MB, MT) and CA State CGMBS or CLS license.
• Proven leadership experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Word processing and data management skills; able to handle projects independently.
