Finance Adviser (Humanitarian)

Location: Must be based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Ukraine (no visa sponsorship provided).

What you will do

• Implement NRC financial systems, routines, and procedures in Country and Area Offices and ensure compliance with global and national policies.
• Support the development of the master budget and conduct regular financial analysis of spending and variances.
• Establish and maintain strong grants monitoring and reporting systems to ensure timely fund utilization.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, budget vs actual reports, and donor financial proposals.
• Identify process gaps and provide training, capacity building, and mentoring for finance and non-finance teams.
• Train line managers and implementing partners on budgeting and reporting standard practices.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant financial experience in budgeting, monitoring, and accounting.
• Proven experience with large donors such as KFW, UNHCR, GFFO, ECHO, BHA, Nansen, BMZ, SDC, or FCDO.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and solid experience with ERP systems.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian, both written and verbal.
• Legal eligibility to work in Ukraine; no work permits or visa sponsorships are provided.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with high accuracy.
