Salary: $6,747.50 – $9,701.42 CAD Monthly

What you will do

  • Develop and implement communication priorities and strategic plans for the School.
  • Collaborate with the Faculty of Medicine communications team to align news and announcements.
  • Lead storytelling, media relations, and the promotion of academic programs within the school.
  • Create and manage content for social media, including video clips, blogs, and illustrations.
  • Write speeches for the School Director and produce a bi-weekly internal newsletter.
  • Provide strategic guidance and standards for communication across various centers and programs.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum five years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and anti-racism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including journalistic business writing.
  • Ability to adapt writing styles for different media requirements and audiences.

Nice to have

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism.
  • Experience translating complex research for a general public audience.
  • Proficiency with WordPress and social media analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of graphic and web design principles and desktop publishing software.
  • Experience creating podcasts, webcasts, and video presentations.
