What you will do

• Lead the incremental refactoring of legacy automation systems into a predictable and testable architecture.
• Design and implement new standards for orchestrating complex, multi-step transactions with external systems.
• Transition the core engine towards a decoupled, scalable architecture to support growth from 5M to 50M users.
• Develop the next generation of internal tools using an AI-first approach.
• Work closely with the co-founder/CTO on product implementation and technical strategy.

Requirements

• Experience as a founder or lead architect at an early-stage startup.
• Strong expertise in system design for offline, asynchronous jobs and state management.
• Ability to handle complex business logic and high obsession with success rates and edge cases.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Nest.js, GraphQL, and AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda).
• Must be based in Canada (specifically Ontario).
