What you will do
- Lead the Core Backend Team in orchestrating complex, multi-step transactions with external insurance systems.
- Refactor existing automation systems into a robust, fault-tolerant, and decoupled framework.
- Design and implement new standards for predictable and testable system behavior.
- Develop next-generation internal tools using an AI-first approach to scale the platform to 50M users.
- Perform hands-on technical work for 80% of the time, working directly in the codebase.
Requirements
- Experience as a founder or lead architect at an early-stage startup.
- Strong expertise in system design for offline, asynchronous jobs.
- Deep understanding of state management, decoupling, and failure retry logic.
- Must be based in Canada (specifically Ontario).
- Obsession with success rates and debugging complex business logic edge cases.
