Embedded Software Engineer

TL;DR

Embedded Software Engineer: Design, develop and maintain BIOS, Board Support Packages, drivers, and bare-metal software for high-performance embedded computing platforms with an accent on low-level hardware interfacing, board bring-up, and system validation. Focus on UEFI BIOS development, Linux/Windows/VxWorks BSPs, microcontroller programming, and resolving escalated customer issues on complex hardware-software platforms.

Location: US Remote. Must verify eligibility to work in the United States (US citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for US Department of State/Commerce authorizations). Subject to security clearance, export controls, and BPSS pre-employment screening.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain UEFI BIOS, Board Support Packages (Linux, Windows, VxWorks), drivers, and bare-metal microcontroller software.
• Collaborate with hardware designers during product specification, board bring-up, prototype testing, and design validation.
• Define test software plans with the realisation team.
• Resolve challenging escalated customer issues.
• Support product specification with hardware design authorities and software architect.

Requirements

• Proficient in Embedded C for x86, PowerPC, or high-performance ARM processors.
• Practical experience programming hardware at register level with good hardware appreciation.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging skills, and systematic approach to issue resolution.
• Experience in Linux/Windows/VxWorks BSPs and drivers, UEFI BIOS, low-level embedded Linux software, or bare-metal microcontroller programming.
• Knowledge of software engineering tools, best practices, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Must be eligible to work in the US and meet export control/security requirements.
