What you will do

• Conceive, develop, and maintain big-data-ready, resilient backend services in a cross-functional team.
• Collaborate with the CTO, Product Managers, and Sustainability Team to translate requirements into technical features.
• Engage in pair programming, code reviews, and technical spikes to ensure architectural quality.
• Deliver user value iteratively using agile processes and two-week sprints.
• Maintain high code quality and coverage through automated testing, Rubocop, and ESLint.
• Optimize deployment processes using GitHub Actions and Kubernetes.

Requirements

• Must live in the EU (CET ±3) with a valid work permit.
• Fluent in English (C1) with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one well-known web framework, ideally Ruby on Rails.
• Hands-on mentality and an agile mindset.
• Strong passion for climate protection and creating customer-oriented value.

Nice to have

• Degree in Computer Science (Bachelor, Master, or PhD).
• Experience working in an early-stage startup.
• Proficiency in German.
