Principal DevOps Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own the architecture of the cloud platform including AWS topology, Kubernetes design, and observability standards.
• Drive AWS operations across multiple regions, managing multi-account landing zones, IAM, and network patterns.
• Scale and optimize production datastores, specifically PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora) and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Evolve the EKS-based Kubernetes platform using Helm, Kustomize, and GitOps tooling like ArgoCD or Flux.
• Architect CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and internal developer platforms to improve DORA metrics.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead high-severity incident response, and conduct blameless post-mortems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, with 3+ years at Staff or Principal level.
• Deep hands-on expertise in AWS multi-account, multi-region SaaS architectures.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and expert-level Terraform skills.
• Demonstrated experience managing PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch at scale (tuning, replication, HA).
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience operating production workloads under SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads, GPU fleets, or vector stores.
• Familiarity with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) and progressive delivery tools.
• Background in FinOps and managing cloud spend at $5M+ annual run-rate.
• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments (Azure, GCP).
