What you will do

• Take ownership of key components of the membership platform and serve as a subject matter expert for those areas.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable services and APIs, owning features from specification to launch.
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to technical design reviews and RFCs.
• Fluently integrate AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) into the daily workflow to improve team efficiency.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data analysts to turn ambiguous business problems into technical plans.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, improving runbooks and alerting to enhance system reliability.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 3–5 years of professional experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Go.
• Experience with cloud-based microservices, specifically Kubernetes and AWS.
• Working knowledge of relational (Postgres, MySQL) and non-relational (DynamoDB, Redis) databases.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants in a real engineering workflow.

Nice to have

• Experience with subscription, membership, or billing products.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, PCI, SOC2, or HITRUST.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, or frontend stacks (React, TypeScript, Next.js).
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Sentry, CloudWatch) and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
