What you will do

• Develop and refine steady-state and transient engine cycle models for micro turbojets and turbofans.
• Conduct engine cycle matching and optimise performance to balance thrust, fuel consumption, and thermal constraints.
• Collect and process engine and test rig data to calibrate performance models and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with test teams to define plans according to PTC 22 and ISO 2314 standards.
• Interface with systems engineering to ensure compliance with qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810.
• Perform design and off-design trade studies to assess the impact of technology changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Thermal Power Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience (or PhD + 4 years) in gas turbine engine performance engineering.
• Experience with 0D engine cycle modelling tools such as GasTurb, NPSS, or TTECTrA.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience in engine or test rig setup, execution, and data acquisition.
• Must be based in or able to work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Nice to have

• Exposure to 1D/2D simulation methods.
