Forward Deployment Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain healthcare data integrations using Python, HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, and SQL.
• Translate complex requirements into scalable and testable integration flows in collaboration with product and delivery teams.
• Coordinate with offshore engineering teams on implementation, review, and quality assurance.
• Monitor and optimize live integration performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Develop reusable components and integration templates to improve delivery efficiency.
• Lead root-cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues to ensure system reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in healthcare integration or interoperability engineering.
• Strong proficiency in HL7 v2, FHIR, and X12 standards.
• Hands-on experience with Python and at least one integration engine (e.g., Mirth, Rhapsody, InterSystems IRIS, or Redox).
• Experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and SQL.
• Must be based in or work onsite in Sioux Falls, PA.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with EHR APIs such as Epic, Cerner, or AthenaOne.
• Knowledge of FHIR bulk data workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, or cloud-based deployment pipelines.
• Background in AI/ML data pipelines or healthcare analytics.
