What you will do

• Own client workstreams from discovery through production delivery, translating ambiguous goals into buildable plans.
• Design and implement scalable UI architectures using React/Angular and reliable Python services and APIs.
• Optimize SQL performance using window functions, CTEs, indexing strategies, and query plan analysis.
• Establish team patterns, including review checklists, testing standards, and CI/CD reliability.
• Improve system observability through logs, metrics, traces, and production debugging playbooks.
• Implement AI-first workflows and mentor engineers on SOLID/MVC boundaries and DRY/KISS tradeoffs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional production experience.
• Strong expertise in React/Angular architecture and testing discipline.
• Proficiency in Python service design, testing, and debugging at production scale.
• Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and indexing intuition.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring and stakeholder communication.
• Must be based in or able to work from Columbia, MD.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in Forward Deployed Engineering or consulting.
• Experience building reusable reference implementations and delivery accelerators.
• Skills in improving CI/CD pipelines and Dockerized development environments.
• Strong security and compliance awareness (OWASP).
