Staff Security Engineer (Digital Asset Security)

Location: New York, NY, United States; hybrid collaboration with managers and teams deciding which 10+ days per month to work in the office.

Annual base salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD.

What you will do

• Architect, code, implement, and maintain solutions and operational processes for secure, reliable high-value digital asset transactions.
• Develop security automation and tooling to measure, monitor, and communicate the real-time security posture of digital assets.
• Maintain and improve proactive monitoring and response capabilities for smart contract risks.
• Guide engineering teams on digital asset and smart contract security best practices and security-by-design principles.
• Advise on security engineering methodologies, tooling, and vendor integrations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience in security and/or engineering focused on building services that secure digital assets.
• Strong understanding of digital asset security architecture and end-to-end security for high-value on-chain and off-chain transactions.
• Strong knowledge of key management solutions such as MPC and HSM, cryptography, and cryptographic key lifecycle management.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or Python.
• Ability to handle sensitive work discreetly and communicate complex security and compliance topics as engineering requirements.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and operate effectively amid ambiguity and complexity.
