TL;DR

Corporate Development Manager (GovCon): Identifying and executing acquisitions of small to mid-size Government Contracting firms with an accent on strategic evaluation and financial rigor. Focus on conducting deep-dive due diligence, building complex valuation models, and leading fundraising efforts for new internal IPs.

Location: Hybrid (Columbia, MD). Requires on-site presence Tuesdays and Thursdays and alignment with the Eastern time zone.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000

What you will do

  • Scan the GovCon market to identify acquisition targets based on technical capabilities and growth potential.
  • Lead financial modeling and valuation processes using DCF and Precedent Transactions.
  • Manage the end-to-end due diligence process across financial, legal, and operational workstreams.
  • Draft executive outreach and maintain the M&A CRM to track deal statuses.
  • Lead capital raising rounds and build the "equity story" to pitch to VCs and Private Equity firms.
  • Evaluate internal IP assets to determine market value and commercialization strategies.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate Development.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel for building complex 3-statement and valuation models.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, various contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPAF), and set-aside programs.
  • Experience developing scoring criteria for M&A candidate evaluation.
  • Exceptional writing skills for summarizing complex data into executive briefings.
  • Must be able to work within the Eastern time zone.
