TL;DR

Senior Real-Time Cinematic Artist (Unreal Engine): Creating high-quality in-engine sequences for game trailers and in-game cinematics with an accent on camera work, shot layout, and Unreal Sequencer execution. Location: Remote within specific US states (AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, ME, MO, NJ, NV, NC, OH, PA, TX, WA, WY). Los Angeles area preferred.

Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Block and refine cinematic shots and create camera animations using Unreal Sequencer.
  • Convert storyboards, references, and rough direction into reviewable in-engine sequences.
  • Build fast previs and layout passes using existing environments and placeholder assets.
  • Evaluate shot feasibility, timing, and composition while identifying production risks.
  • Export playblasts and rough cuts for creative feedback and iterative review.
  • Collaborate with animation, VFX, and lighting teams to ensure seamless cinematic integration.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
  • Must be based in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, ME, MO, NJ, NV, NC, OH, PA, TX, WA, or WY.
  • Shipped at least one professional video game title.
  • Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine, specifically Unreal Sequencer.
  • Experience with Maya or Motionbuilder.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating cinematic camera work, layout, or previs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Movie Render Queue, virtual cameras, or mocap workflows.
  • Background in virtual production or promotional trailer capture.
  • Familiarity with short-form vertical video or social-first content.
  • Experience establishing cinematic pipelines and reusable Unreal setups.
