What you will do

• Lead query tuning and performance baseline enforcement using EXPLAIN and EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
• Manage PostgreSQL health, including vacuuming, index hygiene, and table maintenance.
• Oversee major version upgrades and replication cutovers.
• Resolve concurrency issues, deadlocks, and optimize triggers.
• Build frameworks for performance testing and observability dashboards.
• Optimize data flows with integrations like Snowflake, dbt, and Reverse-ETL.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a DBA.
• Extensive expertise in PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and administration.
• Proven success in optimizing complex queries and addressing performance bottlenecks.
• Experience managing materialized views in high-concurrency environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake data warehousing and dbt.
• Familiarity with Reverse-ETL and BI tooling.
• Experience with logical replication and PgBouncer.
• Background supporting large-scale SaaS applications.
