Software Engineer

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Java/Go/Python): Develop system software for converged appliance platforms enabling VCF on a single appliance model with an accent on full stack development including REST APIs and systems-level programming. Focus on designing enhancements, improving management/control/data planes, service ownership, monitoring, and performance tuning across multiple OS/hypervisors.

Location: USA-CA - Promontory B (onsite)

Salary: $141,300 - $226,000

What you will do

• Collaborate with architects and leads to develop system software per design specs for VCF converged platforms.
• Design and implement enhancements and new capabilities in VCF and related areas.
• Build full stack features including REST APIs using Java, Go, Python.
• Handle service ownership: monitoring, alerting, triaging, fixing issues to improve SLOs; participate in on-call rotation.
• Improve management, control and data planes; utilize TDD for high-quality code.
• Maintain CI pipelines, perform code reviews, tune performance/scalability, develop reusable code.
• Interact with architects, leads, customer support, release team and respond to customer issues.

Requirements

• Location: USA-CA - Promontory B required (onsite)
• Bachelor's + 12+ years, Master's + 10+ years, or PhD + 7+ years related experience.
• Systems-level programming in Java, Go, Python; full stack with REST APIs.
• Experience with service ownership, monitoring, alerting, triaging, on-call support.
• CI/CD pipelines, TDD, code reviews, performance analysis/tuning.
• Cross-OS/hypervisor development, customer issue resolution.
