What you will do

• Design and implement scalable backend services for ingesting and processing large-scale motion capture data.
• Architect and optimize database systems for high-volume relational and time-series datasets.
• Build and maintain secure, performant RESTful APIs for internal and client applications.
• Optimize data pipelines for throughput and cost efficiency within cloud environments.
• Improve system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance across distributed architectures.
• Collaborate with product and data science teams to support advanced data visualization and reporting tools.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Ruby (Rails), Node.js, or similar backend technologies.
• Deep understanding of database design and optimization (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, caching, and background processing (Redis, Sidekiq).
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale data pipelines or streaming systems.
• Familiarity with time-series or high-frequency data.
• Knowledge of WebSockets or real-time system architectures.
• Background in sports analytics or biomechanics.
• Full-stack experience with React.
