What you will do

• Design a document processing pipeline to handle diverse enterprise contract formats including PDFs and Word documents.
• Build high-precision extraction models to identify and classify contract clauses and risk provisions.
• Develop a risk assessment framework that compares contracts against company playbooks and approved libraries.
• Implement a review workflow that integrates with existing legal tools like CLMs and matter management systems.
• Collaborate with in-house legal design partners to validate AI accuracy and ensure system reliability.

Requirements

• Strong full-stack or backend engineering skills with experience shipping production systems.
• Experience with document processing, NLP, or information extraction from unstructured text.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs for structured data extraction, classification, or reasoning tasks.
• Ability to implement high-precision systems with critical false positive management.
• Capacity to work autonomously and make independent product and architecture decisions.
• Must be available for a 12-week, full-time, on-site residency in Mountain View, California.

Nice to have

• Experience in legal tech, compliance tech, or regulated industry software.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools or legal workflow systems.
• Background in Document AI, OCR, or PDF processing pipelines.
