Senior Network Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Network Engineer: Support and evolve global network infrastructure including routing, switching, WAN/SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless with an accent on high-availability operations and automation. Focus on troubleshooting complex multi-domain issues, implementing automation tooling with Python/Ansible/Terraform, and enhancing observability and reliability.

Location: Remote from Texas or Charlotte Metro (excluding South Carolina)

What you will do

• Operate and evolve global production network: routing/switching, campus/data center, WAN/SD-WAN, VPN, wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, Cisco telephony.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across domains/geographies, work with carriers on faults/upgrades, participate in 24/7 on-call and incident response.
• Drive network automation: device provisioning, config management/drift detection, validation/compliance using Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git workflows.
• Support hybrid infrastructure (on-prem/cloud: AWS/Azure/GCP), collaborate with platform/security teams on segmentation, access, best practices.
• Improve monitoring/observability, build runbooks/documentation, enhance operational safety and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in CS or equivalent + 7+ years hands-on enterprise network engineering in 24/7 production environments
• Strong Cisco routing/switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP), enterprise wireless, next-gen firewalls (Palo Alto preferred)
• Network automation experience: Python/APIs, Ansible/Terraform, Git workflows, validation/drift detection
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical skills, communication; ability to work across teams
• Participation in on-call rotation, after-hours/weekend work required; occasional comms room work

• SD-WAN, F5, NSX-T, OKD/OpenShift/Kubernetes networking
• AWS/Azure/GCP networking, Cisco ISE, MPLS, VPN, enterprise voice
