What you will do

• Ideate and iterate new character concepts in collaboration with other developers.
• Craft detailed concept art and orthographics for 3D artists and animators to implement.
• Design visual reads and details that communicate character persona and core fantasy.
• Solve visual problems to execute the specific look and feel of the characters.
• Drive cohesive visuals, narrative, and gameplay across multiple disciplines.
• Mentor and support concept artists on the team to improve their craft.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the video game industry as a Character Concept Artist.
• 5+ years of experience working with Photoshop or relevant design tools.
• Mastery of human and animal anatomy, color theory, value, and silhouette.
• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality stylized artwork and complex design solutions.
• Ability to transform creative briefs into iterative designs throughout the development lifecycle.
• Experience mentoring artists and working cross-functionally with 3D, Animation, and Narrative teams.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping a AAA title as a Character Concept Artist.
• Experience working on an FPS title.
• Ability to create 3D proxies/blockouts or paint over 3D models.
