What you will do

  • Conduct forensic investigations of vehicle crashes, slips, trips, falls, mechanical failures, and workplace accidents assessing human, environmental, and design factors.
  • Lead analyses of construction and industrial accidents using safety principles, human factors, equipment design, and biomechanics.
  • Evaluate workplace incidents including PPE, fall protection, ladders, and injury mechanisms.
  • Apply ergonomics to identify risk factors, assess human performance, and recommend prevention strategies.
  • Perform biomechanical analyses of forces, motions, and tolerances in accident scenarios.
  • Prepare reports, provide expert testimony, and present at conferences.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Human Factors, Biomechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in human factors, ergonomics, biomechanics, or safety engineering
  • Strong foundation in injury biomechanics, human performance, ergonomics, and occupational safety.
  • Experience with accident reconstruction, workplace injury investigation, and safety compliance.
  • Proficiency with 2D/3D motion analysis tools.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP) or equivalent.
  • Slip, trip, and fall analysis with human factors and codes.
  • Construction/industrial accident analysis including fall protection and PPE.
  • Product safety, usability assessments, and ergonomic consulting.
