Hardware Project Leader (Automotive)

Focus on coordinating global HW teams, requirement engineering, schematics integration, and risk management to meet BOM targets and customer specifications.

Location: Hybrid in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany (flexible office/remote availability, 10-25% travel within Germany and international).

What you will do

• Lead technical hardware development for connectivity projects including 5G NAD and wireless modules.
• Coordinate local and remote HW teams (Bucharest, Shanghai) and act as customer interface for HW topics.
• Support project manager in conception, specifications, RFI/RFQ, BOM estimates, and cost-down measures.
• Realize system designs, schematics integration, requirement engineering (Doors/DNG), DFMEA, and change management.
• Analyze customer requirements, generate work packages, perform design reviews, and report project status.
• Collaborate globally with quality, manufacturing, software teams and support industrialization with suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years in HW development, verification, and industrialization of automotive IVI, telematics, or ECUs.
• Experience with RF modules (5G NADs, wireless technologies) and technical lead of HW teams.
• Project management experience; tools like Mentor Graphics, SPICE, Jira; strong English skills.
• Flexible office/remote work in Ulm, Germany; clean driving record; pass background/drug screen.

Nice to have

• Analogue/digital/RF design experience in wireless/telematics.
• Requirements management (DOORS, DNG, ALM).
