What you will do

• Lead investigations into complex fraud cases across identities, accounts, devices, and transaction surfaces.
• Reconstruct attacker sequences and hypothesize actor intent to distill patterns into actionable insights.
• Collaborate with Data Science and ML/AI teams to improve labeling, feature sets, and model performance.
• Conduct longitudinal and structural analysis of fraud types using network, graph, and sequence mining.
• Monitor external fraud trends and perform threat modeling of abuse surfaces.
• Produce evidence-backed technical reports and case studies for executive and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3+ years of applied fraud experience in high-velocity environments such as fintech, banking, or security research.
• Proven experience reconstructing multi-step attack sequences across accounts, devices, and identities.
• Expertise in dark and grey-web navigation and translating external intelligence into insights.
• Experience with post-containment incident response and root cause analysis.
• Fluency with BI tools, anomaly detection, and investigative toolchains.
• Must be based in the US (Target locations include New York, San Francisco, and other US cities).

Nice to have

• SQL for deep data querying and Python for scripting and prototyping.
• Experience with graph/network analysis to detect linked behavioral structures.
• Fraud domain certifications such as CFE.
• Exposure to production ML model lifecycles and drift/decay metrics.
• Experience applying AI tools and agents to accelerate research workflows.
