What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain tools for deployment, configuration, and operation of Grafana Alloy, OpenTelemetry Collector, and related components powering 1.8M instances.
• Own and evolve Helm chart ecosystem across 10k+ clusters and 300k nodes, ensuring robustness and user-friendliness.
• Build cross-platform tooling for Kubernetes, Linux, Windows, and macOS.
• Support infrastructure-as-code with ArgoCD, Terraform, Flux, and other GitOps utilities.
• Collaborate with support, product, and field teams to address customer pain points and improve tools.
• Contribute to open source projects like Grafana Alloy, OpenTelemetry, and Helm charts; represent at meetups and conferences.

Requirements

• Comfortable in remote-first culture with async communication across time zones
• 4+ years software engineering experience (Go preferred; Python, Rust welcome)
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: deploying, operating, debugging with Helm
• Experience building/maintaining external tooling with focus on API/UX, compatibility, upgrades
• Strong testing skills: unit, integration, end-to-end
• Engagement with open source communities

Nice to have

• Experience with Grafana Alloy or OpenTelemetry Collector
• Helm charts authoring/maintenance
• GitOps tooling (Terraform, ArgoCD, Flux)
• CKA or CKAD certification
• Developer-facing CLIs or config tooling
