Cost & Value Engineer (CVE): Drive initiatives to maximize product value while minimizing costs throughout the product life cycle with an accent on bottom-up CVE methodologies, design-for-cost, and cross-functional optimization. Focus on evaluating technical solutions, preparing cost data for proposals, and leading supplier process improvements under tight deadlines.
Onsite – Christiansburg, VA. Travel: Approximately 10%, Domestic and/or International.
Salary Range: $77,000–$95,000 Annually (Christiansburg, VA)

What you will do
- Apply CVE methodologies to identify, evaluate, and realize cost potential across the value chain.
- Lead process and technology optimization at suppliers.
- Coordinate cost estimating teams and translate technical inputs into proposal cost data.
- Conduct concept evaluations focusing on design-for-cost and design-for-assembly.
- Analyze historical data for business proposals ensuring transparency and objectivity.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Supplier Quality Management on strategic CVE topics.
- Communicate estimating results to pricing and executive leadership under time constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or finance, with minimum 3 years in project-oriented or manufacturing support role.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, mechanical drawings, and 3D models.
- Proven track record in bottom-up cost calculations and managing cross-functional projects.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and Office tools (PowerPoint/Excel).
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, moderation, and presentation skills for executive reviews.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
