What you will do

• Define and evolve the performance testing strategy to ensure workloads mirror production traffic and regressions are caught early.
• Instrument the edge fleet for deep observability using latency histograms, resource saturation signals, and tracing pipelines.
• Design and enforce staged (A/B, canary) rollout processes for performance-sensitive changes.
• Drive systemic throughput, latency, and efficiency improvements through kernel tuning, eBPF offloads, and caching strategies.
• Automate performance gates and configuration management to reduce toil and increase signal-to-noise in data.
• Collaborate with Product, R&D, and Network teams as a subject-matter expert to ship performance-aware features.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Linux/Unix environments, including kernel internals, process scheduling, and memory management.
• Proficiency with performance profiling and tracing tools: eBPF (bpftrace, libbpf), perf, gdb, strace, and flamegraphs.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash, and experience with IaC (Ansible, Terraform).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, HTTP/2–3, TLS, and load balancing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/bare-metal edge infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding workflows and AI-assisted engineering toolchains.

Nice to have

• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, or Puppet.
• Knowledge of BGP, routing protocols, and Kernel bypass networking (DPDK/XDP).
• Programming proficiency in C, Go, or Rust.
• Experience with AI/ML in production systems and Edge/CDN architecture.
