TL;DR

Senior Linux System Engineer (L3) (Cloud Hosting): Act as the final escalation point for complex server, hosting, and network issues, managing Linux-based environments with an accent on KVM/Libvirt expertise, automation, security, and 24/7 operations. Focus on diagnosing critical failures, deploying infrastructure with Ansible/Terraform/Docker/Kubernetes, and optimizing performance under high load.

Location: Must be from Ukraine. Fully remote.

What you will do

  • Act as L3 escalation point: diagnose and resolve critical system failures, network outages, and performance issues.
  • Manage and optimize Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL), web servers (Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed), databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), and caching (Redis, Memcached).
  • Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python, Perl) and use Ansible/Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Deploy and manage virtualization (KVM, OpenStack, VMware) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes); support AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.
  • Implement security (firewalls, SELinux, vulnerability assessments) and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix).
  • Collaborate with teams and mentor L1/L2 engineers; participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 11+ years hands-on Linux system administration in web hosting/cloud environments.
  • 7+ years in Senior/L3 role.
  • KVM and Libvirt expert with 7+ years experience.
  • Expert in web hosting (cPanel, Plesk, WHM, LAMP/LEMP).
  • Strong scripting (Perl, Bash, Python); config management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, load balancing); storage (RAID, SAN, NAS).
  • Good English communication skills.
  • Experience in 24/7 production with on-call; build servers from scratch.
