What you will do

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL infrastructure, including clusters and installations.
• Configure and optimize performance and fault tolerance for high-load scenarios.
• Handle cost optimization through the analysis of managed versus self-hosted solutions.
• Automate operations and environment provisioning using IaC tools.
• Support existing solutions involving self-hosted MySQL and AWS managed services (ElastiCache, MemoryDB, RDS).
• Influence best practices for database usage and handle complex incidents for product teams.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, tuning, and operations.
• Experience working with high-load systems and performance optimization.
• Proficiency with cloud environments and managed database solutions.
• Strong automation skills using IaC (SaltStack, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform), CI/CD, and bash/python scripting.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks in ambiguous environments.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with developers and infrastructure teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redis and Kafka.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes stateful services.
• Experience migrating between managed and self-hosted solutions.
• Expertise in load testing and comparative analysis of solutions.
