TL;DR

hirify.global’s Middle Mile Science group develops optimization and machine learning systems powering the freight transportation network, from network design and pricing to real-time load planning and capacity utilization.

What you will do

  • Design and build scalable machine learning and optimization models for pricing, revenue management, forecasting, and dynamic pricing in the freight marketplace.
  • Apply causal inference and AI techniques to improve marketplace services and execution for shippers and carriers.
  • Create experiments and prototype new learning algorithms and prediction techniques.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, engineers, scientists to implement models in production systems.
  • Present research findings to top leadership and make decisions affecting algorithm integration across the product portfolio.

Requirements

  • Location: GBR, London
  • 5+ years building ML models or algorithms for business applications
  • PhD in engineering, technology, CS, ML, robotics, operations research, statistics, math or equivalent, or Master's + 10+ years industry/academic research
  • Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or similar
  • CS fundamentals: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, complexity analysis

Nice to have

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like MxNet, TensorFlow
  • Peer-reviewed publications in top journals/conferences
  • Hands-on with reinforcement learning or dynamic programming
  • AWS technologies experience
  • Causal inference or experimental design in large-scale systems
