Senior Industrial Designer (Consumer Electronics)

Senior Industrial Designer (Consumer Electronics): Designing and developing repairable, modular consumer electronics with an accent on user experience and sustainability. Focus on owning the end-to-end design process from ideation and prototyping to mass production and supplier management.

What you will do

• Own the product design process from initial ideation through prototyping, NPI, and documentation into final production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Taiwan and the US on the development of novel products.
• Develop and test physical prototypes to explore new concepts and solve design challenges.
• Drive specification and CMF inspection, managing overall process quality for mass production with suppliers.
• Execute 2D/3D drawing releases and high-quality 3D renders.
• Manage design relationships with JDMs and external partners during the NPI phase.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in consumer electronics product design.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating the full design process from ideation to execution.
• Advanced CAD modeling, surfacing, and 2D/3D visualization skills.
• Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Passion for environmentalism and/or DIY culture.
• Background in developing consumer product branding.
• Expertise in product 3D rendering and animation.
• Experience working as a remote member of an international team.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping using 3D printers.
