What you will do
- Build and ship backend systems for agentic workflows, including retrieval pipelines and multi-step agent architectures.
- Optimize LLM-powered workflows through prompt design, retrieval strategies, and latency optimization.
- Develop and operate evaluation frameworks to measure relevance, quality, and success of agent pipelines.
- Design and prototype human-in-the-loop systems for validation, correction loops, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to establish production-grade patterns for agentic systems.
- Evaluate and integrate the latest advances in LLMs and retrieval architectures.
Requirements
- Experience building production backend systems in search, retrieval, distributed systems, or API-heavy architectures.
- Proven experience building or evaluating agentic or LLM-powered systems (RAG).
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with search and retrieval tools such as PGVector, Pinecone, or Elasticsearch.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for high-availability systems.
- Must be located in or able to work from the Vancouver, Toronto, or London hubs.
Nice to have
- Experience designing complex multi-agent orchestration workflows.
- Contributions to AI/ML open-source projects.
- Strong understanding of ML fundamentals (precision, recall, bias-variance tradeoff).
- Interest in sharing technical learnings through blogs or talks.
