What you will do

• Architect and evolve backend systems using Scala, Play, Postgres, and AWS.
• Design and deploy scalable APIs and AI-assisted services.
• Own end-to-end feature development from ideation to production.
• Build frontend features with React, Chakra, Storybook, and modern state management.
• Develop agent-driven workflows using tools like Claude Code and Codex for parallel implementation, debugging, and refactoring.
• Create internal tooling, prompts, and engineering systems to boost velocity and code quality.
• Optimize performance and eventually lead a small team of 2-3 engineers.

Requirements

• Live in timezone UTC-6 to UTC+2
• 7+ years software engineering experience.
• Strong backend experience (Scala, Java, Ruby, or C#).
• Strong JavaScript and React experience.
• Experience building and scaling SaaS products.
• Deep familiarity with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
• Comfort with multi-session, agent-driven workflows and system design.
• Excellent written communication for async-first culture.

Nice to have

• Functional programming experience.
• Building internal dev tools or platforms.
• Designing prompt systems or reusable AI workflows.
