TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/Fintech): Building product and platform systems that move real money and impact millions of users with an accent on reliability, correctness, and maintainability. Location: Remote from anywhere in Canada, with optional access to office spaces in Montreal and Toronto.
Salary: $170,000–$220,000 CAD base + equity.

What you will do
- Drive ambiguous high-impact problems from idea to production.
- Partner with Product and Design to define scope, trade-offs, and execution plans.
- Design, build, and evolve production systems focused on reliability and maintainability.
- Balance speed and quality while sharing ownership including on-call and incident response.
- Contribute to technical and product decisions shaping team direction.
- Improve team standards, tooling, and processes.
Requirements
- Strong product and customer judgment with proven ownership of production systems including reliability and on-call.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and making trade-offs with incomplete information.
- Desire to improve craft and systems continuously with curiosity, pragmatism, and bias for action.
- Active use of AI tools in daily workflow for development, debugging, and learning.
- Experience with backend development using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Relational databases such as Postgres, observability/monitoring (e.g., Datadog), containerized/cloud environments.

- Mobile development with React Native.
- Experience building financial, payments, or crypto-related systems.
