Senior Backend Engineer (Marketplace Payments): Building secure and reliable payments solutions for hirify.global buyers and sellers with an accent on critical lifecycle of user’s financial journey, payment account creation across PSPs, and KYC/KYB processes. Focus on architecting scalable systems for identity verification, user migrations between PSPs, and ensuring platform resilience amid regulatory changes.

Location: Hybrid in Kaunas or Vilnius, Lithuania (2 days in office recommended but not enforced)

Salary: €4,975–€6,725 gross per month

What you will do

• Work in a team of 5-8 engineers, engineering manager, product manager, and decision scientist using Agile/Lean principles.
• Collaborate via GitHub pull requests and code reviews with fast deployment cycles to production.
• Build and evolve services with Ruby on AWS/on-premise, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Temporal, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Write unit, integration, and E2E tests; own critical alerts, business metrics, and on-call rotations for 99.99% availability.
• Leverage AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to enhance code quality.

Requirements

• Hybrid work in Kaunas or Vilnius, Lithuania with 2 office days recommended.
• Solid backend engineering skills; Ruby beneficial but not required.
• Experience building complex systems, pragmatic problem-solving, and balancing short-term needs with long-term stability.
• Strong collaboration, communication, mentorship, and systematic thinking for cross-team work.
• Continuous learner with passion for technology and proactive innovation.
