Template Software Engineer (C/C++)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain production-ready software for ATM Bill Validator modules.
• Implement and evolve image authentication and validation algorithms to detect counterfeit media.
• Analyze complex banknote image data and propose robust technical solutions.
• Lead template development activities for assigned devices or currencies.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Prepare technical documentation and lead peer reviews for software changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience in a commercial environment.
• Proficiency in C/C++.
• Experience working with complex data sets and/or image-based processing systems.
• Must be based in or able to work from Dundee, UK on a hybrid model (3+ days/week in office).
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded or hardware-adjacent software development.
• Familiarity with bug tracking, version control systems, and formal development workflows.
• Prior exposure to regulated, security-sensitive, or mission-critical software environments.
