What you will do
- Apply actuarial principles to build models for forecasting, risk management, and contracting efforts.
- Analyze healthcare data from health plans and public sources to generate business strategy insights.
- Develop expertise in the financial structure and methodology of value-based contracting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify and solve complex data analysis problems.
- Extract and validate data from diverse sources for incorporation into actuarial models.
- Synthesize analysis results and translate findings into actionable business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of actuarial or related experience.
- Completion of at least two SOA exams toward the ASA credential.
- Proven experience in actuarial analysis and model building.
- Experience working with healthcare data sources such as medical claims, membership, and risk scores.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
- 3-4 SOA components toward the ASA credential.
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and R, Python, or Stata for statistical programming.
- Ability to produce data visualizations, presentations, and reports from nuanced analyses.
- Knowledge of standard methods for measuring healthcare utilization, spending, and quality outcomes.
