TL;DR

Data Scientist (eCommerce): Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to generate actionable insights for marketing, operations, and product strategy with an accent on predictive modeling, A/B testing, and ETL automation. Focus on optimizing customer retention, ad spend, and streamlining eCommerce operations.

Location: Remote (Work from anywhere). Working hours: 9am - 6pm Eastern Time.

What you will do

  • Analyze large datasets to identify business trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Develop predictive and forecasting models for sales, demand, and customer behavior.
  • Design and implement A/B tests to evaluate marketing campaigns and pricing strategies.
  • Build and maintain ETL processes to clean and collect data from Shopify, Google Analytics, and CRMs.
  • Create and maintain automated reports and data dashboards to track business KPIs.
  • Partner with marketing, operations, and finance teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst, preferably in eCommerce or retail.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
  • Expertise in SQL and data manipulation within relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Solid understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, and regression modeling.

Nice to have

  • Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or Amazon Seller Central.
  • Familiarity with customer segmentation, LTV prediction, and churn modeling.
  • Understanding of digital marketing analytics, including Meta Ads, Google Ads, and GA4.
  • Experience with cloud data tools like BigQuery, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift.
