What you will do

• Define the multi-year technical strategy and architectural roadmap for RAG, multi-agent systems, real-time voice, and safety.
• Architect foundational platforms used across multiple products, teams, and partners to make long-term technical decisions.
• Partner with executive, product, and clinical leadership to translate healthcare goals into technical bets.
• Own the company-wide safety and evaluation bar, setting measurement systems for every agent and model change.
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers and shape the organization's hiring and leveling processes.
• Represent the company externally through publications, conference talks, and partner engagements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in software, ML, or AI engineering.
• Proven track record of building and shipping AI- or ML-powered products in production environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python with experience in distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Deep understanding of prompt engineering, vector databases, and retrieval systems (RAG).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern DevOps practices like Terraform and CI/CD.
• Must be based in Palo Alto to work in the office five days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience building or deploying LLM-based or multi-agent systems at scale.
• Hands-on work with speech recognition, text-to-speech, or streaming architectures for real-time AI.
• Prior exposure to healthcare, safety-critical domains, or regulated product development.
