Autonomy Engineering Specialist (Remote Control): Design, develop, integrate, and test robust, scalable embedded electronic control and vision systems for remote control machine applications with an accent on technical leadership for LOS and NLOS systems. Focus on system integration, validation, product roadmap execution, risk management, functional safety, and cross-functional coordination.

Location: Full-time onsite required at Mossville, IL or Clayton, NC offices. Domestic relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship not available. Up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain Remote Control systems for new and existing hirify.global machine programs.
• Provide technical leadership for Remote Control LOS and NLOS systems across machines and platforms.
• Support Remote Control product roadmap and NPI programs as a core technical expert.
• Lead system integration and validation for Remote Operator Stations, LOS Consoles, and machine interfaces.
• Define requirements for Remote Operator Station features and change requests.
• Own internal Remote Operator stations, including software and hardware deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in product development and validation of heavy equipment, robotics, or autonomous vehicles.
• Strong technical background in complex hardware-software systems.
• Experience with Linux-based software and systems.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.
• Must work full-time onsite in Mossville, IL or Clayton, NC. Visa sponsorship not available.

Nice to have

• New Product Introduction (NPI) experience for complex machines.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to verification and validation of safety-critical software and systems.
• Experience delivering programs to production.
