TL;DR

Senior Python Developer (AI Engineer) (Python/LLM/RAG): Building scalable, production-grade intelligent systems, including LLM-powered applications, RESTful APIs, microservices, and retrieval pipelines with an accent on Python engineering, semantic search, and cloud deployment. Focus on designing end-to-end RAG architectures, integrating LLM platforms, optimizing vector and relational databases, and solving performance challenges in distributed services.

Location: Remote; work from home, the beach, or the office.

What you will do

Architect and develop scalable, production-grade Python applications, LLM-powered systems, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
Design and implement end-to-end Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines, embedding workflows, and semantic search solutions.
Build and optimize data ingestion pipelines and background processing with Celery, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
Integrate LLM APIs and AI platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Azure OpenAI.
Design database schemas, queries, and vector database architectures across relational, NoSQL, and vector databases.
Containerize and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes, deploy to cloud platforms, and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Requirements

7+ years of software development experience, including the latest 1–2 years focused on AI/LLM-powered solutions.
Expert-level Python skills and hands-on experience building and deploying LLM applications, especially RAG systems.
Experience with Django, Flask, FastAPI, Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, RESTful APIs, microservices, SQL, relational and NoSQL databases.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, messaging queues, and Docker.
Intermediate English or higher; strong testing, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills. A BSc/MSc in a relevant field is required.

Nice to have

Experience designing multi-agent AI systems or fine-tuning open-source models with Hugging Face.
Familiarity with FAISS, Milvus, advanced MLOps, and model governance.
System architecture or software team leadership experience.
PhD completed or in progress in a relevant field.
