What you will do

• Lead the design and development of secure, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Drive the technical direction of the team and influence system architecture decisions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and enforcement of coding standards.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability under heavy load.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX/UI designers to define technical requirements and estimate efforts.
• Implement and drive best practices for observability, monitoring, and synthetic testing.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Java Developer, with at least 2+ years in a leadership position.
• Extensive experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
• Deep understanding of backend development and RESTful API design.
• Solid experience in software architecture and system design for scalable web applications.
• English: C1 level required (comfortable working in an English-speaking environment).
• Location: Must be based in Colombia.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of frontend technologies including JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, or Angular.
