What you will do

• Review video content to ensure strict compliance with provided client guidelines.
• Identify and analyze patterns or trends in Japanese pop culture and social media.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver editorial feedback and research on video content.
• Evaluate daily quotas of assigned videos using an analytical and objective mindset.
• Apply deep knowledge of the cultural and political climate in Japan to ensure content appropriateness.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese.
• Experience with copywriting and proofreading in English, preferably within the entertainment sector.
• Deep familiarity with the cultural and political climates in Japan.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant industry.
• Must be able to work from a consistent location (home office, etc.) within Japan.

Nice to have

• Experience in content moderation, curation, or content review roles.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, specifically spreadsheets and data management tools.
• Strong understanding of the digital streaming ecosystem and video platforms.
• Expert knowledge of memes, trending music, gaming, fashion, and creators on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
• Experience working remotely within multicultural teams.
