Software Engineer III, Carrier Integrations Platform (Python)

What you will do

• Design and implement well-scoped, reusable platform components for the Carrier Capabilities team.
• Develop integration recipes, templates, shared modules, and internal tooling.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify and resolve recurring integration challenges.
• Write modular, reusable Python code to reduce duplication across multiple carrier integrations.
• Maintain high-quality documentation to simplify the adoption of platform components.
• Utilize AI tools in daily workflows to optimize development speed and code quality.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with production code in Python.
• Proven experience building backend services or shared components in production environments.
• Strong understanding of OOP and common design patterns.
• Experience with APIs (REST, SOAP, gRPC) and at least one server-side framework (e.g., Django, FastAPI).
• Must be based in the US (excluding DE, NV, OH, OR, HI, NM, WV), Ireland, or other international regions.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to internal platforms, SDKs, or shared libraries.
• Knowledge of integration patterns such as adapters, translators, or routing.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal, Prefect, or Kestra.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, SQS, NSQ, or Celery.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
